As a kid growing up in a blue-collar family, I watched my parents live paycheck to paycheck, which made a huge impact on me. I’ll never forget a moment in high school when my business teacher showed us his last five uncashed paychecks, demonstrating that if we invest our money and save for the future, we wouldn’t need to worry about when the next paycheck was going to hit the bank. That was when my lifelong interest in money and finance really took hold.

From that moment on, I’ve spent my professional career helping others create actionable steps toward financial independence. I started my financial planning career with AXA Advisors after graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Global Business in 2008. I then spent two years of my financial planning career helping a Certified Public Accounting firm in Scottsdale, Arizona develop their financial planning practice.

Through that work, I gained valuable experience coordinating tax reduction strategies with financial planning techniques. I also worked to develop my skills in technical insurance-based solutions, estate planning, portfolio management programs and retirement cash flow analysis. I also hold Series 7 and Series 66 registrations through LPL Financial, Life and Health Licenses, and am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

When I’m not working with the valuable team at Validus Financial Associates, I love spending time with my wife and kids outdoors, hunting, fishing, and coaching little league baseball. I also enjoy working with the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society, a wildlife conservation organization.

I’m fortunate to do what I love both in and out of the office. The team approach to financial planning we use at VFA cultivates better ideas, better communication and ultimately empowers clients and gives them the tools and knowledge to make the appropriate decisions for themselves and their families throughout all stages of life.
